Let me take this opportunity to welcome myself back to the world of blogging. I know, I know, I’m sure all of you were waiting with bated breath for my return. (I’m assuming this statement is followed by thousands, hundreds, tens of mouses exiting out of my blog).
But on a more serious note, I first want to thank anyone and everyone who is reading this/who will continue reading. These are just my thoughts and musings, and I really appreciate everyone entertaining my secret pipe dream of being a writer.
Here’s the ten second review of me, and all the wonderful people that make up my life:
1) I’m a recent graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication - Advertising with a minor in English.
2) I was born and raised in…everywhere. Well, not everywhere because that would be a lot of places. But trust me, it was a lot of places.
3) I’m currently living in Chapel Hill, working whilst figuring out the twists and turns of life and hoping that those turns lead to the world of being a musician. And asking God to lead me the entire time.
4) Some people call me Maurice.
Here are some of the amazing people that keep me sane:

These are my wonderful parents.
This is Janna. She is awesome. Yeah, I’m thinking the same thing you are. “How did a guy like him get her?” I’m not sure, but hopefully my Jedi mind tricks will keep working. Also, I’m sure you thinking, “Where is Calin looking in this picture?” Again, I’m not sure. Being able to look straight into a camera is one of the many things that makes Janna awesome.

These are my housemates (minus Chad Mosby…who is a quality individual that sadly is not pictured) and one of neighbors, Rob. These are the guys who keep me laughing daily with their crazy antics (I mean, look at them) and hearts of gold.

This is Jessica Long. We are composed of Jessica Long on rhythm electric and acoustic guitar, piano/keys, and lead vocals, Michael Bare on bass and backup vocals, Drew Walstrum on drums, Calin Nanney (that’s me) on lead electric, as well as our wonderful manager Katey Orr who is not pictured. I’m very blessed to have been surrounded by such talented musicians and sincere people to make a serious effort to break into music. Please check out www.jessicalongmusic.com, like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter @JessicaLong411.
So that is Calin Blake Nanney in a nutshell. If you want to know more, just ask. I figured that it would be best to have mercy and not subject everyone to a 5000 word essay on me.
